Being an owner of cavies I felt this book was informative but I felt it was missing something. Its great to see more books available for owners and people looking to own Guinea pigs (as there is still not enough information about these lovely adorable friends) and I would recommend that first time owners purchase this book, however I felt that the book was lacking in the information regarding illnesses and general behaviour traits, but its things that I have noticed over the years of caring for them. I did slightly feel that the book was aimed at those wishing to 'pageant' their cavy but otherwise it is a good reference book.
*** I would like to point out that the book suggests its okay to feed guinea pigs celery, please DO NOT do this as it is too stringy for them to digest.****

This book is without dought the most complete guide to guinea pigs I have ever seen. Very complete on the different diseases although it seems like one doesn't know a lot in this domaine - not terribly specialised on this particular point. Apart from that wonderful! Not disappointed!

Love this book. it really helps me with what my guineas can eat, which i never remember lol
fab book, covers everything u can imagine from breeding to showing to bathing.
this book is great and i actually read it from cover to cover multiple times its that good :)

This little book tells you all the quirky things about guinea pigs as well as being a beautifuly written and informative book. Easy to read and well presented. I am impressed!

Very comprehensive, with fewer photos than some lighter-weight books on the same subject (though still contains several "awwww!"-inducing images of guinea-piglets), but lots of in-depth information on care, diseases, breeding and other useful matters. I have referred to this volume many times since acquiring two piggies a few weeks ago.
