I found this book really helpful. I'm a novice when it comes to guinea pigs and wanted to get as much information as possible before we even considered getting any. The book covers everything a prospective guinea pig owner needs to know and more. The only down side is that the writer has such a passion for guinea pigs you won't be able to resist getting one. :)

bought for niece and nephew 7 & 10. to teach them small animal responsibility. worked really well- animal lived much longer than i had initially expected as they really did understand and follwed their care responsibilities. think having a guide book stopped them being 'told what to do' and they responded well to it. good guide book

my sister and i found this book very helpful when we had our first guinea-pigs as children. it is clearly written, easy to understand and explains everything you need to know to start off with, such as choosing a hutch, choosing a breed, diet, veterinary care, breeding and babies.

This book is a MUST buy BEFORE you actually aquire your guinea pig. It gives you ALL the info you need to check out the health of the animal before you buy, different breeds & how to..... excellent all round information, i'd highly recommend purchasing.
